EXTRA SPICY BEEF IN BLACK SAUCE

Ingredients

350g beef tenderloin, cut into fairly thick slices

20g fresh young ginger

150g red onion

50g red chilli

50g garlic

200g cili padi (bird’s eye chilli)

100g dried shrimp

6 stalks lemongrass, lightly beaten

150ml sweet black soya sauce

50ml MARIGOLD Evaporated Filled Milk

Pinch of salt & black pepper

Method

  1. Blend garlic, red chili, cili padi, red onion and dried shrimp into a paste.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the blended ingredients well.
  3. At this point, add lemongrass into the pan and sauté.
  4. Cook until aromatic and add sliced beef tenderloin, sweet black soya sauce and MARIGOLD Evaporated Filled Milk. Braise the beef until the sauce thickens quite a bit.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper.
